Meet Jacqueline

Contributor – Jacqueline aka The Miss M.

From a very early age, I’ve had a passion for food. I remember before I started school, making mum and dad breakfast in bed; Sao crackers smothered in butter and vegemite, along with milk, served in recycled yogurt cups. I’m certain that whilst their praise was warm and encouraging, my efforts were over zealous and unpalatable. When I was in primary school age, I remember collecting recipe cards from the supermarket and scrapbooking the ones I actually used and liked.

I’ve always loved cooking. Usually savoury over sweet. And I love exploring new food haunts and revisiting old favourites. At heart, I’m an epicurious Sydney girl, who reads cookbooks like novels, always goes back for seconds and thinks life is too short to say no to dessert. With Gourmet Belly, I’ve been able to find harmony – my love of food, fondness for writing and the ever present travel bug that sees me jet off, whenever I can.

  1. My nickname is…well, I have a few. Jinx, because I seem to bump, drop and break things. Also Giraffe, based on my height.
  2. I can’t live without…my passport.
  3. My favourite place to visit…Washington Square Park in New York City. I have so many happy memories there. It’s a great place to people watch and the buskers are just insanely talented (most of the time).
  4. Everything tastes better with…Butter!
